If you want to make a difference in your life as well as in the lives of local seniors, we have opportunities.

We welcome individuals of all ages. Students can meet community service requirements and businesses can reach out to the community with corporate volunteers.

Retired professionals have many skills that we need: organization and problem solving, fundraising, speaking experience, and professional expertise in health, nutrition, accounting, insurance and many other fields. We have opportunities for those who like a challenge.

Most of our programs depend on volunteers and we could not deliver nearly as many services without them.

Call our Volunteer Coordinator at 207-513-3710 or 1-800-427-1241 ext. 3710 or TTY 207-795-7232 to find out more about these or other opportunities.

Needed Now: Meals on Wheels Deliverers in Lewiston and Auburn. Mid-mornings for 1 or 2 hours, 1 to 4 days a week. We reimburse your mileage from your home.

Other Opportunities:

Meals on Wheels Driver. Wherever you live, there are homebound seniors. Deliver meals one or two mornings a week or be on call for when we need a substitute. We can reimburse mileage.

Lunchplus Cafe Helpers. Set tables, serve meals, and clean up. Several locations. 1 day a week or more. 10:30-12:30.

Lunchplus Cafe Coordinators. Work with volunteers to coordinate lunch at a dining location. Greet diners, practice safe food service, collect and deposit donations, small amount of record-keeping. 10:00-12:30. Various locations.

Kitchen Assistants. Join us in our new kitchen facility in Lewiston! Support our staff members by assisting with meal portioning and packaging, and all the usual kitchen details. A terrific way to gain skills and practical experience.

Medicare Volunteer. Comprehensive training available. Computer savvy. Opportunities include: help educate consumers about Medicare and fraud, educate older adults about Medicare Part D and assist them in comparing plans, present information to groups and/or individuals. Help is especially needed from October through December..
