SeniorsPlus is the designated Area Agency for Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin counties. It provides information, resources, and services for older adults and people with disabilities. We work with our volunteers to help meet the needs of the community. Below are some of our current opportunities.

 

Meals On Wheels Delivery Driver in Androscoggin and Franklin counties

 

  • Mondays through Thursdays, 9:30 am-12 pm Back-up delivery drivers for the MOW program for Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin Counties.

 Note: Mileage is reimbursed for our delivery drivers at .50 cents a mile.

 

Medicare Counselors in Norway, Fryeburg, Greater Farmington Area, and Rangeley

 

  • Provide confidential assistance and help to navigate the Medicare system, understanding and reviewing options with Medicare coverages. All training is provided.

 

Money Minders in Brownfield, Lewiston, Sabattus, South Paris, and Stratton

 

  • Assist clients who need help managing monthly bill payments. Flexible hours.

 

Norway Game Day Host

 

  • Our Norway office is looking for a host to lead our game day fun. Assistance is needed on the third Tuesday of the month from 12:30 pm – 3 pm. This assistant will set up and play board games, card games, or puzzles with our clients.

 

Norway Office Reception Support     

 

  • Our Norway office needs assistance on Fridays 8:30 am -12 pm. This assistant will greet occasional clients and support the Community Service personnel with administrative tasks.

 

Opening Minds Through Art Volunteers in Lewiston and Wilton

 

  • Assisting people with Alzheimer’s or dementia to create art using their imagination. No art experience is needed! One day a week, six-week sessions. All training is provided. The training is approximately one and a half to two hours with a SeniorsPlus OMA facilitator.
    • Fridays, June 14 through July 19, from 2 pm-3 pm in Lewiston.
    • Thursdays, August 1 through September 5 at 1p-2 pm in Wilton.
    • Fridays, September 27 through November 14 at 2 pm-3 pm in Lewiston

 

Packing Support in the Lewiston Distribution Center

 

  • Help with the packing of meals at the distribution center in Lewiston. A volunteer is needed Wednesday’s 10 am to 12 pm.

 

Social Dining Site Assistants

 

  • Meal site assistance is needed in the Rumford and Farmington sites. Assistance is needed to set up, serve, clean up, and collect donations. Assistance is necessary weekly between the hours of 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

SeniorsPlus has volunteer positions for everyone. No particular experience needed – just enthusiasm and dedication. We work to find a happy fit for you. Some volunteers wish to work in an area that they are knowledgeable about, others want to hit the reset button and try something new.

Opportunities range from administrative support in the office, delivering meals with our Meals on Wheels program, helping clients understand Medicare options, and helping manage household budgets.
